IES Junior School Football Tournament

IES Junior School Football Tournament

On Wednesday, May 25th was the first of hopefully an annual 7-a-side Football Tounament held by the Head Office for IES Junior Schools.

 The Schools that entered were:

Eskilstuna, Bromma, Enskede, Täby, Linköping and Gävle.

IESE entered both a girls and boys teams.  Students had been selected from training sessions\try outs in the weeks prior.

Our IESE Boys made it to the final and after finishing 1-1 draw after extra time then went on to penalties where they unfortunately were beaten by Eskilstuna.  The boys were all presented with Silver medals.  The boys standard of play was very high and our students were very impressive skillfully and as well as with their teamwork.

Our IESE girls came 3rd in their group having drawn one game and lost their other and therefore, unfortunately were out of the tournament.

This day was a fantastic success and our students played exceptionally well.  They were also a credit to the school in the way they behaved.

A Wonderful Contribution To A Worthy Cause!

A Wonderful Contribution To A Worthy Cause!

Our students raised the amazing sum of 50 000 sek during their week 18 charity events.

The photographs show Mrs Margareta Olofsson from Rädda barnen as she received the cheque for 50 000 sek from the Chair and Secretary of our student council Lova and Aniqa. These monies are earmarked for Haiti and will no doubt be put to very good use.

It is wonderful to see what can be done when students get together in this way to help others in need.

Well Done Everyone!

CambridgeIt's exam time at IESE!  More specifically, the IGCSE exams in English as First and Second Language, English Literature, French, Spanish, Mathematics and Science have started!  Our talented students and staff have been working hard to prepare for these opportunities to show the world how highly IESE students can achieve.

The academic rigor placed in IGCSE is what attracts many of our students to attempt these qualifications, either as a personal challenge or as a way to prepare more thoroughly for the challenges of gymnasium next year.  What ever their reasons, we're certain they'll do excellently.

Our cohort this year has already broken records.  With 86 candidates registered for 113 IGCSEs, including two students from our sister school IES Nacka sitting English as a First Language with us; it's set to be a busy period with over 16 written exams following speaking exams for almost 60 candidates and coursework in Science for a further 17!

I'd very much like to thank all the staff involved with preparing the students for these exams and those involved in the organization or running of the exams over the next few weeks.

Good luck students!
