Principal Update

From the Principal

Welcome Back,

I would like to take the opportunity of  welcoming our new and existing students to their first school day on Monday 18th August, and trust that all have had a fantastic Summer break.

We have been very busy at school during the Summer with several projects taking place.

Our elevators have been completely renovated, walls have been painted, the school has been transferred to a Google environment and away from microsoft, 460 chromebooks and chrome boxes have replaced laptops and thin clients, chromebook trolleys have been built in house and a Junior School music room has been established.Kleins restaurant have also completely renovated the dining room, creating a bright and fresh environment for our students to eat their lunch in.I am sure that our students will appreciate these developments which further enhance our ability to create a first class learning experience for all.

During the last two weeks teachers and administrators have been working hard together with the massive task of preparing for the year ahead. Tuesday 12th saw our school again host the all IES new staff conference in our Auditorium. A total of 436 new staff from all over Sweden attended a series of presentations designed to help prepare them for their important roles throughout our organisation.

We were pleased to have our Managing Director Mr. Riber at our school, presenting along with our Head of Finance Fredrik Åkermanan, Head of Academics Mr. Brunker and Student Care Specialist and Vice Principal Training Program Coordinator Mr. J. Elder. My thanks also to our Head of Swedish Ms Khöningslehner for  giving an excellent presentation. Ms Khöningslehner`s reflections regarding her first experiences  at our organisation and how these were different from that she had previously experienced were no doubt very useful to all our new staff.

I am sure that all are anticipating yet another fantastic year together here at Internationella Engelska Skolan Enskede and look forward to meeting everyone on Monday.

Best Wishes,

Robert Clark
